My name is Sabrina Jordan. I’m originally from Manhattan, NY and I moved to Bergen County, NJ for High School. I will be graduating from Rutgers University-New Brunswick this May with a major in Latino and Caribbean Studies. I realized I wanted to be a teacher after my internship last summer with the Breakthrough Collaborative at San Francisco Day School, where I taught incoming 6th graders literature over the summer. I can’t wait to meet you all and get into the classroom soon!
What about the residency are you most looking forward to?
The part of the residency that I am most looking forward to is becoming a part of my school community. I can't wait to get to know all of the students, teachers, administrators and even the area that I will be working in.
Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?
One teacher that really made a bit impact on me and my love for social studies was my High School AP US History teacher, Mr. Capone. Mr. Capone always encouraged our class to have discussions and debates about the material in class instead of traditional lectures, and he was such a like-able teacher because he was never afraid to be himself.
