Patrick Yee

About Me
Hello all! My name is Patrick. Originally, I am from Malaysia and I immigrated to the United States, when I was four years old. You can say I am a New Yorker. I went to CUNY Hunter College for my undergraduate studies. During my undergraduate career, I majored in sociology and mathematics. My specialization for the sociology major focused on educational institution and inequality. Because of these two majors, I mostly study quantitative research methods. During my free time, I liked to hang out with my friends and go on various walks throughout the city.
What about the residency are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to actually teach, which is my dream goal in life. I love working with students because they just make my day better no matter what is going around in the world or if I am simply having a bad day. Also, I look forward learning new skills and techniques that I can add to my "toolbox".
Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?
Positive attitudes is what made teachers that left a lasting impression on me special. The reason for this is because they made math an interesting subject area through real life example which helped me understand the world of mathematics. In addition, they challenged me by pushing additional mathematics concepts to my limit. Out of all the subject areas that I learned, mathematics became my favorite and strong subject.
