About Me

Greetings from the 305! I’m a 26 year-old from Miami with major love for pop culture, helping others, and of course, my local sports teams. I received my bachelors in Philosophy from Florida International University and while I have no experience teaching in a classroom, the time I spent mentoring teens through a nonprofit and managing a movie theater led me to pursue teaching. I’m looking forward to heading to DC and learning alongside you all.

What about the residency are you most looking forward to?

I'm most looking forward to working with students to overcome the struggles they might face. Being a teacher requires a lot of preparation and the residency seems like the perfect avenue to learn pedagogy.

Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?

My tenth grade European History teacher went on to become my mentor. She was a strict teacher with a tough demeanor but that didn't stop her from reaching out to help me bridge the gap between my above-average test scores & less-than-stellar attendance records. She encouraged me to reach my potential without scolding me for detouring along the way. She saw me as a person and not just a test score.
