Hi there! My name is Eunice, and I was born and raised in Queens, NYC. I graduated from Princeton in 2020 as an East Asian Studies major, and returned the following fall to do my student teaching with the university’s Teacher Preparation Program. Thanks to the program, I’m currently certified to teach English in NJ! I’ll be working as a leave replacement at the high school I student taught at before beginning my time with the NYU Teacher Residency. Excited for what the upcoming year has in store for us!
What about the residency are you most looking forward to?
Working with new students and a mentor teacher in the city that I grew up in! I'm also looking forward to learning and growing alongside my fellow residents.
Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?
One of my favorite high school teachers is the English teacher that I had both freshman and junior year. He was always well-prepared and organized when it came to class, and had high expectations for us and our work. It could be challenging at times to stay on top of the work for his class, but he was always extremely thoughtful and fair, going out of his way to do right by his students.
