I’m originally from Westchester, but I attended NYU as an undergraduate, majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry and Psychology. I knew I enjoyed teaching when I began tutoring in high school, and teaching science allows me to merge both my love for STEM and my passion for education together.
What about the residency are you most looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to attempting to put what I learn in theory into practice in the classroom. I believe having both classes about educational theory and hands-on time in the classroom is a unique experience, and provides us the opportunity to implement what we learn in real-time.
Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?
I had a fourth grade teacher that told me I should be a scientist. I used to dislike science, so the fact that she said that to me made a huge impression--and it turns out she was right, as biology was my college major.
