Admissions events
We appreciate the time and commitment that the first steps toward becoming an impactful teacher require, and understand at times it may feel overwhelming. This is why we created a series of virtual and on-ground admission events to offer you extra support and guidance along the way.
We will provide support from the early stages when you are first getting to know the ins and outs of the program, to when you start your application and perhaps need help with eligibility requirements around choosing your subject area, and then onto when you receive faculty approval and are ready to move into the next phase of district or charter partner interviews. We can even help guide you when you are ready to make decisions about your offer(s).
There are many types of admission events every month at varying times. Look through our listings to see which events are coming up next, or search by type.
General information sessions
Our Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Residency program combines a one-year residency with a master’s program in teaching.
Immersed in the classroom in one of our partner schools, you will gradually take on more responsibility – providing you the opportunity to connect learning theory with practice and build confidence in your teaching. You’ll be supported by an in-person, trained teaching mentor, plus expert NYU Steinhardt faculty through direct contact, virtual course work, and scheduled meetings.
