I’m an educator from the San Francisco Bay Area, and I attended Carleton College (’13), where I studied Environmental and Technological Studies! I have worked at five national parks, one fish and wildlife refuge, and conservation areas around the country. I’m very passionate about natural and cultural history, and understanding our heritage, individual as well as nation
What about the residency are you most looking forward to?
I can't wait to learn alongside great educators and see how folks perform in the classroom. I'm excited to serve in the forward-thinking San Francisco Unified School District, which has a history of commitment to social justice.
Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?
My Yearbook/Journalism teacher at Hawaii Prep, where I attended boarding school, was very patient, compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental. He also lived on campus with the boarding students, and coached a sport I participated in, Ultimate Frisbee. He encouraged me to help other students in writing their yearbook articles, which was very rewarding to me, and taught me how to use a DSLR!
