My name is Quinn, and I am excited to start the next stage of my life. I was born in China but lived in California for 21 years. Because of my love for science and learning, I went to University of California, Santa Cruz, and graduated with a double-major in Anthropology and Biology. Although teaching is a change from my current profession, I believe the skills I have developed will greatly assist in developing myself as a teacher.
What about the residency are you most looking forward to?
I like the fact that NYU’s Teacher Residency program emphasizes helping its students gain teaching experience in the classroom. So, I am looking forward to meeting new students and developing my teaching style.
Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?
My fifth-grade/sixth-grade teacher Mrs. Pitts is special because she helped me discover my passion for science with her hands-on approach to teaching that made science fun, creative, and engaging.
