I'm a huge hip-hop head. Name a rap song and I'll recite it for you. I used to be a cheerleader and I want to get back into coaching hopefully soon.

About Me

My name is Bri Davis and I identify with the pronouns she/her/hers. I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and I now live in Brooklyn, New York. I’m mixed raced; my dad is an African American from Chicago and my mom is from the Philippines. I attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University for my undergraduate. I majored in Broadcast Journalism. This past May, I received my Masters of Liberal Studies online from The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University. I am an experienced digital content creator and I have worked in the digital media space since 2014.

What about the residency are you most looking forward to?

The part I’m looking forward to the most about the residency would be collaborating with my peers and forming a bond with the students I teach. It’s so exciting to think I’ll be back in an educational space and getting to know a cohort of different students from various walks of life. It’s going to be such an insightful experience learning their perspectives of education and their specific teaching styles.

Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?

My high school Advanced Newspaper teacher, Lisa Lukecart made such a huge impact in my life. Not only did she trust me but she taught me how to be confident and believe in myself. Because of her, I will always do my best to push myself out of my comfort zone because the worst thing you can do is shortcut yourself because of your lack of confidence.
