What about the residency are you most looking forward to?
The part I’m looking forward to the most about the residency would be collaborating with my peers and forming a bond with the students I teach. It’s so exciting to think I’ll be back in an educational space and getting to know a cohort of different students from various walks of life. It’s going to be such an insightful experience learning their perspectives of education and their specific teaching styles.
Did you have a teacher who made a lasting impression on you?
My high school Advanced Newspaper teacher, Lisa Lukecart made such a huge impact in my life. Not only did she trust me but she taught me how to be confident and believe in myself. Because of her, I will always do my best to push myself out of my comfort zone because the worst thing you can do is shortcut yourself because of your lack of confidence.
